For those of you living in a f’d up state that requires a serial number on them before July 1st 2018 per California AB-857 look no further. Atomic Engraving rocks very nicely laser etched and super fast, mailed on a Saturday and returned completed on Friday.I have had 3 Polymer80’s laser serialized by them on lowers I purchased from other places and I realized, it would have been cheaper to just order one from them with the serial number included in the price. So I ordered a SS80 from them and can’t wait for it’s release this month.TIP: Make sure that you do not complete your lower until after it has been engraved by them, otherwise you can’t mail it to them, you will have to make arrangements with them to bring the lower to them and wait while it’s engraved. Remember “I’f it’s done, it’s a gun”.I’ll try and post a picture here so you can clearly see the quality they do and how it ends up looking on the lower.Thank you Atomic Engraving you ROCK!.

For Ford cars, the frame numbers started in 1932 with.18-1. (. being a star) and ran consecutive until the end of production in February, 1942. 1932 V8 18-001 to 18-203,126From 1932 through 1948 vehicles, Ford Motor Company stamped the serial number into the top of the driver's side frame rail in three locations. Of the frame-stamped serial numbers, only the forward-most stamping was visible when looking down into the engine compartment (located between the front cross member and the dash (firewall).

The two other frame locations are visible only when the body is removed from the frame. The serial numbers were metal stamped with numbers/letters approximately 1/4' in height.The number (including the prefixes shown) was always preceded by (and followed by) a stamped 'star' similar to an asterisk.The serial numbers were stamped on the vehicles without any commas or superfluous 0's (zeros).For both it is also on the top of the left frame rail near the steering box.

This location is visible without removing anything.Four cylinder vehicles were numbered.AB-5000001. through.AB-5062386. and.B-5062387. through.B-5178212. (approx, may been as high as.B-5178484.). The. represents a 5 pointed star used to positively identify the start and finish of the number.
