About TrueRTAAbout TrueRTATrueRTA 's audiospectrum analyzer software shows you a detailed picture ofwhat you're hearing in real-time, that is, as it happens. You can create your own professionalmeasurement system starting with TrueRTA software on yourPC. Then add the measurement microphone, preamp and USBinterface of your choice. TrueRTA accuratelytests audio systems using aWindows PC with basic sound capability. TrueRTA turns your PCinto a powerful audio test system normally seen only in betteraudio research and design laboratories.
Here are the components that make up TrueRTA:HighResolution Audio Spectrum AnalyzerTrueRTA 'saudio spectrum analyzer software shows you a detailed picture of what you're hearing inreal-time, that is, as it happens. The audio spectrum analyzer shows the changing spectrum of liveinput signals up to 48kHz (half the maximum sampling frequency). The size of thewaveform sample is variable so that shorter samples can be used where ahigh frame rate is required, as in sampling live music. Longer samplesprovide increased low frequency resolution with the tradeoff of slowerupdates.
The latter settings are appropriate for highly accuratefrequency response measurements. TrueRTA Self Test of an E-MU 0404 USBsound system, shownin Line ModeSome of the above applications require the use of the analyzer incombination with a test signal from the generator. Others (such as noiseanalysis or analyzing live or recorded music) require no test signal.QuickSweepTrueRTA's Quick Sweep employs a short digitallygenerated sweep (chirp) to measure the frequencyresponse of electronic and acoustical systems. Belowis the measured response of an E-MU 0404 USB audiointerface at 96 kHz sampling frequency.TrueRTA Quick SweepWITHOUT Sound Card Calibration(self test of E-MU 0404, dark gray background)Below is TrueRTA withSound System Calibration switched on. Note that theresponse of the sound card has been removed from themeasurement so that a self test of the sound cardnow shows a flat response. The response of anysystem you now insert in the test loop can now bemeasured very precisely plus or minus.05 dB.TrueRTA Quick SweepWITH Sound Card Calibration(self test of E-MU 0404)Below is a QuickSweep measurement of a high pass filter created byinserting a 470 pF capacitor in the test loop. Whenloaded by the input impedance of the sound card theseries capacitor forms a high pass filter with -3 dBfrequency at around 300 Hz.
Note the totalabsence of any sound card response error. Only theresponse of the actual filter is measured when soundcard correction is employed.TrueRTA Quick Sweepof a Highpass Filter(using sound card calibration, white background). Signal GeneratorTrueRTA'sSignal Generator produces an ultra low-distortion sine wave variablefrom 5 Hz to 24kHz. Theoutput level can be specified anywhere from full scale to a single bitof amplitude. In additionto the sine wave the generator can be switched to pink noise. The higher level versions of the product canalso provide a digitally created logarithmic sine sweepfrom 10 Hz to 48 kHz. Thissignal is a high-resolution alternative to using pink noise for systemtesting.
True Launch Bar V3.2
The swept sinewave provides a higher signal level at each frequency compared to pinknoise and lacks the peaks and valleys seen in pink noise response plots. The digitalQuick Sweep is an excellent alternative to stepped sinewave frequency response testing.

You will likely want to upgrade to ahigherlevel with increased resolution. Select the level you wantand submit the order. We will email you a RegistrationCode. After you receive the code, launch the FreeLevel 1 and look under the Helpmenu. Select User Registration.
Enter the code inthe appropriate level field. Upon successful entry ofthe code you will have an immediate upgrade to thelevel you ordered. Menu items will be activated, providing greater power. There is no need todownload the file again.TrueRTA iscurrently at version 3.5.6. Level 1 NEVER EXPIRES! Vista and Windows 7/8 Compatible! What Our Customers Say About TrueRTA!' My registration code came through in amatter of hours and instantly my RTA was a level 3!!
Themenu's and graphics are just superb, clear, understandableand fast. I connected my PC up to an EMU 202 USB2 outboardsound card and the Behringer 8000 mic and within seconds wewere away. The Digital Chirp is of course indispensible asjust Pink noise is not a very satisfactory way ofestablishing a loudspeakers response when it is interactingwith the room. But it was so simple to switch from Chirp tocontinuous Pink it was easy to see the room effect. Superb' and absolutely fantastic value!! Thank you somuch!!' - David'I find thisquite an amazing package.
To put this amount of test geartogether in earlier days would have cost me tens of thousands ofdollars. Very nicely designed, very user friendly, and tells meall I need to know in a quick and efficient way. I take my hatoff to your designer!! - Arthur'Not sure I need the 1/3 octave BUTI have used the free version so much I feel compelled to pay youfor your efforts. This is a great program and an indispensibletool for managing feedback at live events. Joe'I have a 20-year old 1/2 octavehand held from Heath Kit.
It just can't compare to yourprogram. Just to look at the 1/24 octave was worth $100.00. This is truly acool program that fills the need of someone like myself who can't justify $3000.00. For anupgrade!' - Ray'Congratulations on youraccomplishments, this is a neat software analyzer.' - Pietro'Love the product!

I'verun some tests on some of my favorite recording equipment and found your software to be right on the money. Keepup the good work!' - Tom'What an easy to use anduseful tool. Mike'Excellent, Practical Software forthe Audio Engineer' - Leslie'A very good value on a very usefultool.' - Bob'Impressive software, Thanks!' -BillFrom Sound and Vision Magazine, Jan 2011'While lots of audio measurementsoftware applications exist for the PC, the one that seemsto have captured the hearts of engineers and enthusiasts isTrueRTA, available at trueaudio.com.
